Ok so I have an alienware 7700 that has a geforce go 6800 ultra, an intell 560 3.6ghts processor and two gigs of ram. Games run completely smooth then I hear the audio blurb and the screen lags and I have lag for around five min then it does the samething and it is crystal clear and so on. I think it may be getting worse however. I have updated drivers, deleted temp files, defraged, ran numerous virus/spyware programs, changed video settings, had my comp guy look at it and I cant seem to find the problem. What is wierd is that I ran 3D mark (a graphics testing thing) and there was no prob at all. Just when I play games. Also when it gets laggy my ping does not go down. It is usually around 85. Can anyone help?!

If a technician has had a look at it and not been able to find a solution, it's unlikely that anyone on here will be able to find out the problem, given all the things you say you've tried. If you've not had it long it might be worth contacting Alienware, since it'll still be under warranty.
I guess since 3DMark06 is running smoothly, I would think it's a software issue rather than a hardware one. Have you tried a repair install of windows? Are the problems with every game you play or just selected ones?
