Need help identifying a part?

I popped open my old pc and found this loose part.

It's a chipset heatsink, so it must have broken off your chipset.

Check your chipset. I can't tell specifically, but it looks like it just latches on to a connecting ring.

You will also need to put some more thremal paste.
