Yesterday I bought a new Western Digital 160GB hard drive. I also purchased a 650W nspire power supply.

I am trying to hook up the 160 GB hard drive to a computer in which I already have a 10GB and a 60GB hard drive running. I hooked up all power cords properly.

I used the master on the 10GB hard drive which is running the OS (Windows XP)
I used the Slave on the new 160 GB drive
I used the CD-ROM IDE cable to hook up both the CD-ROM and the 60 GB hard drive.

When Windows boots and I look in my computer only the 60 GB and 10 GB drives are showing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you have a Primary IDE channel and a Secondary IDE channel.

Your CD ROM and the 60Gig Hard drive also need to be specified (by jumpers) which is Master and which is Slave on the secondary channel.

No try just using two see if the new one comes up at all. By this I mean attach it to cables that you (1) know works and (2) that you are using now. This will just tel you if your comp even recognizes the HD

Look in disk management to make sure it not listed there and all thats needs to be done is partition and format the drive.
