Need help: Linux - to - xp

Hello!

I bought a Netbook Acer Aspire One Pro 531 a few months ago, including the operating system Microsoft Windows XP: Home Edition that came with the computer.
After a month or so I heard from a friend about the new distributions of Linux had to offer (Ubuntu Netbook Remix, Jolicloud, Moblin ...) and I then decided to try one of them, the choice became Moblin, I went in to their website (http://www.moblin.org/), then download v2.0 Moblin Live Image, followed the instructions for installation (the installation would be carried out using a USB stick (1GB), I used the program Win32ImageWriter (available on Moblin's setup page), to get into Moblin on USB stick.

The installation went through without any problems *All good so far*

Now I've got Moblin installed on my Netbook PC and have noticed that it is a good operating system, but it can be further refined, there are still some bugs in the operating system that makes me want to switch back to Windows XP Home Edition.

Here is where my problem:

I don't know how I should proceed to install XP back on the computer. I also have another Laptop: Acer Aspire 5610

NOTE! The Netbook that I have installed the Moblin on has not any CD/DVD-reader, so there's no possibility to put in my Windows XP disc that I got with my other computer.

External USB CD/DVD Drive.

Did your netbook come with a Restore Disc?

Have you checked for a Recovery Partition?

It was no Recovery CD included when I bought the netbook.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by "Recovery Partition", can you please tell me more? I'm not that good at computers.

I thought it was possible to install XP with a boot-installation from the USB memory stick (As I did with Moblin) Am I wrong now?

Generally there is a separate partition on your hard drive that contains all the data needed to restore you computer to factory installed settings.

When you boot the computer, at the Acer screen, there should be some prompts, Press F10 To enter recovery, or Press Esc to blah blah...

Your netbook may have had Acer eRecovery installed, which may have allowed you to create a bootable USB drive, but I'm not certain.

I have attempted many, many bootable USB drives, and to my conquest are Vista, Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I have never been able to create a bootable XP USB drive.

Besides, you'd need an XP disc to create it, or, the eRecovery, which may be lost since you installed over it.

Your only hope is that you can boot into a Recovery Partition at the Acer screen at startup.
