Need Help Now! Virus, Spyware, Ect!! (please Help Or I Lose Everything I've Work On)

I can't download Hijackthis... I could barely download Spybot... AVG is installing, and Spybot search & Destroy is currently running.

Today, it just started. There was a freaking big difference of performance. I could not even log onto Google or any other site without popups (FIRST TIME) ... In fact, it wouldn't even load any page other than the AIM page when I logged on. Internet and Performance has take a huge hit. I can barely log on, ect. Just started this morning. I'm thinking about firewalling the rest of these PC's... good idea? My file server is behind avast... and one other computer has AVG... I should firewall every one of them, correct? This reaallly sucks... I have every movie file I workedon for the last 6-8 months. and I'm not betting I can remake them.

PLEASE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS STUPID INFECTION!
 
I did a (in my opinion) smart thing. I loaded up AVG/AVAST on my last networked computer... AND... I'm using my Intel 1.3 and Intel 700 to scan my Shared Doc's thru the network :) Good idea? I'm thinking about sharing my C: and Documents next :)
 
sounds pretty good to me. i was about to suggest a reformatt but then i read about all the work you were about to lose lol.

so you cant access the hard drive to copy the things you need off?
 
I can, but I can't tell what's infected... :(

It really sucks. This is my first infection in around 3 years... Maybe 2...

So basically now:

AVG SCANNING C: ON 1.3GHz

AVAST SCANNING C: ON 700MHZ

SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY SCANNING C: ON SIG RIG

And they said all my computers were a waste...HA
 
Soon:

STINGER SCANNING C: ON 200MHZ (:P Put every one of them to work. I'ma try to scan using dis computer <2.8GHz> and use it.. well..)

Any other good antiviruses you can recommend to me?

REASON:

Virus fixed. On computer now. Spybot Search & Destroy cleaned it up :) I'd advise that to anyone. 43 problems detected, 42 fixed :D

Of course Spybot is great, but for antivirus, Kaspersky is definitively the way to go... About a year(a little more) ago, I had a problem, at the time I was using AVG, and it wouldn't be fixed... d/l Kasperky trial and it was fixed for good. <--- period
 
DAMMIT IT CORRUPTED MY FREAKING PARTITION! (I EVEN THINK IT DID TO MY CMOS!)


I am extremely pissed right now. I have lost over 50 songs, 15GB of important files, my motherboard, and my HDD. Please do not tick me off... You have been warned. [no joke].
 
boot off something and run a virus scan, also anti cmos viruses are extremely rare, so I wouldn't worry about this. I think you need to start backing up your data on a regular basis.

What OS are you running, and what P2P applications are you using?
 
It was a stupid codec that I needed to download... it just popped up. Looked innocent enough...

P2P? nothing. Maybe once in a while Limewire, but nothing. I don't download crap from it either... just trying out what my friends have :)

I've already run:

Avast Antivirus

McAfee Stinger

AVG Antivirus

Over the network (Smart, eh? :)) No viruses detected :(
 
Ok, a small word of advice. Ditch windows media player, it sucks, its bulky and resource hungry, and just like most Microsoft products it is very poorly coded. Download and run VLC from now on. It doesn't ever need any codecs, and plays everything natively.
