Need help on a casual rig

I am looking into getting a new MOBO, because I want to increase my gaming capabilities, (nothing insane, just play current FPS's in medium)

My current ATX MOBO doesn't have any PCIe slots, which brought me to getting a new one. I am assuming my PSU can carry over since it was bought last year (last one died). Most things can be carried over I am assuming.

I was wondering what Motherboard would be good for casual gaming as stated above, but still have a little room for improvement. Preferrably under 100 bucks..
as I still need another GFX card. Thanks. Open to any advice...just none telling me I need to spend 600 bucks on a whole new rig.

But I got some extra funds... like 400 bucks.. So I was wondering If I could purchase a new MOBO, Processor, and GFX card. To improve gaming and etc. We have decent RAM, a new PSU, and 2 fans, along with a pretty nice sized chassis. Thoughts?

That system is pretty old and not worth the upgrade $ imo.
You would need...
mb
cpu
memory
.. in order for those 3 parts to be compatible. I suspect the hdd would need to be upgraded if its the original, and most likely the power supply and we haven't gotten to the gpu yet, much lees Windows 7 since i think you're running XP and you'll want 7 for gaming.
But, just in case,,what computer do you have? Or is it custom?
Whats the specific model of
the power supply
HDD
case
Do you have an OS to use on the new mb?

Well I have things compared in a spreadsheet atm... It is looking like...around 300 bucks for just the Mobo, CPU, and GFX I want. I probably will need another Hard Drive and maybe another PSU, memory can wait tbh, thoughts?

Alright.. Ill need some more memory too then, I'll have to see if I can get the money together.

But what about the Power Supply, will 400W suffice for now or what?

Pretty much a cheap power supply, doesnt have anywhere near 400W on the 12V rail. My guess would be like 230/250W on the 12V. And thats probable at max. Plus cheap components.
