i only have 256 mb of R.A.M and i want to buy more ram, but i dont know anything about it. I know there in something like "DDR3" or "DDR2" and some other stuff. Can anyone tell me something about it and how much will 2 gb of Ram cost. :o

i think you don't need 2 gigs of ram at the moment, type down your system information, 1 gig should be enough, buy a corsair, geil, infineon etc. brand names cuz they r the best but of course a little more expensive and worth it

here are my specs: 256 mb of ram, intel pentium 4 2.0 ghz, radeon 9200 SE 128mb, and i'm not sure about my motherboard (it;s intel). On my mother board there are two ram cards and two other cards which i dont know what they are (they are next to the ram cards). Can someone please explain what the hell is "ddr", "SDRAM", "ddr2" ddr3" and "ddr400".

SDR DIMM – Single Data Rate. This is now becoming a little out dated, running at speeds up to 133MHz. Not very common anymore

DDR DIMM – Double Data Rate. This is currently the most common for most motherboards taking Intel CPUs and all motherboards taking AMD CPUs.

RAMBUS – Certain top of the range Pentium base motherboards accept this. It is more expensive but has the ability to be clocked in excess of 800 MHz.
