OK so here is my newb issue. I just replaced my Samsung monitor 2253 with a max res. of 1680X1050. My new Samsung monitor is a T24B350 and I would like it to display @ 1920X1080. My issue is this, 1680X1050 the display looks fine, the minute I change to 1920X1080 the screen res. is aweful. Looks terrible, grainy and just plain urghhhhh. What am I missing here? I have a AMD 4870 512 and updated my driver from 10.5 to 12.6, but still terrible. The screen looks fine in anything but high res. Why is this? Can someone please help ..... Oh and the way I'm changing my res. is I right click on desktop click on personalize and display setting and move the arrow right to 1920X1080 and hit apply and then the urghhhhh comes out.

you need to adjust the screen resolution of the card that is being displayed > right click > personalize > screen resolution > drag it to the screen resolution.

Yeap, I can only go to 1680 X 1050, if I go to the 1920 X 1080 it looks aweful. And this monitor supports it so I'm confused????

Any other suggestions? Forgot to mention. Does it matter if I'm using a DVI to HDMI connection? My 4870 doesn't have an hdmi and my monitor doesn't have dvi so I have a DVI to hdmi connection from the video card to the monitor.

Got it, thanks for trying to help..... I had to plug into display hdmi/dvi 1. There was two hdmi inputs in the back of the monitor and only one is for the pc with high resolutions.
