Need help on future computer

Greetings!

I would like to buy a new computer soon as this computer has been with me for about 3years. It's getting old, weird and the graphic cards have retired. I would prefer a DIY computer though. My budget would be SG$1800 or maybe SG$2000 as low as possible :D . Yeah, it's in Singapore Dollars. This new computer would be for gaming like Vanguard: Saga of Heros and some minor programming/work.

Because I have no knowledge of the parts of the computer, I would need a little more specific details. :P Thanks!

EDITED!

This would be your ideal setup for that price range.

I just changed my mind.

I want to buy a new computer and I hope it isn't DIY because I do not know how to fix it up espacially with the motherboard. My budget is Singapore Dollars 1800 and I have decided to play some games comming out this year. This is the recommended specs for the game and they said better specs may be required in future because of expensions etc.

• Windows® 2000/XP
• 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible computer
• 100% DirectX compatible keyboard or input device
• Processor 3.0 GHz Intel or 3500+ AMD processor
• 2 GB RAM
• Vertex and Pixel shader 2.0 compatible hardware with 256MB of texture memory
• DirectSound compatible audio hardware
• Broadband Internet Connection
• 16X Speed DVD-ROM
• 20 Gigabytes Hard Drive Space

Would this be a good spec that I can get at SG$1800?

The second question I'd like to ask is
How do you maintain a new computer and make it last for another 4years?
Do I have to clean the hardwares?
Does it heat up fast?
If it's a DIY computer, where can I find information on how to install those Windows software programmes? Sorry, I'm VERY new with this things and need opinions.

Thanks.
