Need help picking out a cpu

Needing a good cpu to run Battefield 3
Current system
Manufacturer-Cyberpower

RAM-4.00 GB
Power supply-Seasonic M12II 520 bronze 520W ATX12v
Graphics card-Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-bit
operating system-windows 7 64-bit

Also my computer says i have 4GB's of ram but only 3GB's are usable so i probably need more ram, whats some good brands? Would i need to upgrade my motherboard along with a cpu upgrade?

Sounds to me like you have a 32-bit operating system if you have 4GB of RAM but only 3GB is usable, can you verify that for me?

I have absolutely no idea what board you have there, can you find out for us by downloading CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and clicking on the mainboard tab and telling us what it's got please?

I'll assume that a Phenom II X4 or X6 would work in that board, but I can't be sure whether the newer FX processors will work in it or not as I don't know what board it is you have.

Go for 8GB of RAM, get G.Skill ripJaws-X 1600MHz or Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz. They're good brands.
