i just got the Geforce 6600(the second one to run in SLI mode)

the box says its SLI ready.

but when i went to install the second card, it doesn't have the Goldfinger connection. so i can't attach the peice that connects the two

can anyone help please?

Goldfinger connection? I assume you mean that bridge thingy that goes between them? That's suppose to come woth your motherboard, not the GPUs.
And of course it says SLI ready...all the 6600 cards should. It just means it has that little slot on the top.

nono i have the connector. the spot that the connector goes on is called "goldfinger" connection.

but my cards don't have the goldfinger connection(the lil slot you talking about), so what i'm woundering is that will it work before i open this second graphic card from the box.

OOOOH... OK, sorry about that. I don't know too much about SLI but I finally found what you're talking about...

Yeah, it sounds like you won't be connecting them together...though, I seem to recall someone mentioning you don't have to have that connection... I beleive it was back when I asked something about converting a non SLI board to SLI...

then why does it say SLI ready?

and my motherboard is sli compatible i'm positive, i was searching the internet and i found that only the 6600 GT and above cards the connection is needed.

could anybody confirm this?

You *should* (dont quote me on this) be able to run SLi without the conection, but it wont perform as good, and I'm not sure if the 6600 can do SLi at all.

The SLi features with the card you bought will only be accessed by software that came with your card(s)
