Need Help Please

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my Dell Latitude D600. Everything went smoothly and I think I installed all the necessary drivers. My problem is everytime I play a game online such as Wolftenstein Enemy Territory it "lags". A connection interrupted message will appear for a couple seconds on the screen then it will go back to regular gameplay. This will repeat for the entire time I play the game and gets very annoying. I'm pretty sure its nothing to do with my connection as I am on a T1 College Connection and before I reinstalled Windows it never did this. What could the problem be? Missed a driver? Need to update something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
 
Your campus could have blocked the ports to play online games, my campus does this. Also T1 doesn't always mena it's going to be fast, over here we have dual T1s and it's slowwwwww.
