I know to get 54(802.11G) any card would work just fine. But for 108(is that 802.11n?) you MAY need a Dlink card. Read in the manual. It should specify if you need a special card or not.
Many routers have special features to boost their speed. My old Access Point was 11Mbps, but if you had a DLink AirPlus card, you could get 22Mbps. However, that was a "Dlink" standard, and not a true standard. I have heard much the same concept holds for 108Mbps devices still, as there is not a solid "N" standard.
Honestly, if I were you, I'd just stick with your current card. Besides, you have this posted in Internet Discussion, so I assume most if not all your network usage is over the internet? You won't see any increase in performance if you were to upgrade. You could even downgrade to a 11Mbps card and still be fine...
