Need Help Psu Please

have a "wpower' 480 WATT POWER SUPPLY 16amps ont the 12v rail

I just bought new ram for my computer which is faster, requires a higher voltage
and is now in dual channel.

my computer starts up fine and fast but when i initialize my video card ex>"start and nvidia demo" (mad mod mike 1280x1024) my computer restarts.

i was wondering if anyonw could help me with this issue

these are my system specs.

mobo: MSI 865PE neo2 P v.2.x

ram:OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Platinum System Memory (cas 2.3.2.5)

video card: evga e-geforce 7800 gs co superclocked.

CPU: Pentium 4 3.4E (prescott) 800mhz fsb hyperthreaded.

one huge 120mm 100cfm fan on case.

zalman cnps9500led cpu cooler. (arctic silver 5)

1 zip 100 drive
1 lite on dvd dl/rw/ram drive
1 old 48x cd-rom drive
1 seagate 160gb internal sata 1 harddrive
1 5 port usb pci card
1 lan pci card
1 modem 2 port phone modem pci
1 northwood internal pci tv tuner card

if i do need a power supply how many watts would you reccomend

The only thing I can think of would be to try and replace the psu with one with more watts. I would think 480 would be plenty but I cant think of any other reason it would just restart like that. How many hard drives do you have? If you have more than one, try disconnecting one and see if the same thing happens. You could also disconnect any of your optical drives and see if it restarts. If it doesnt restart when you have any of your drives disconnected, you probably need a new power supply. Good luck.
