Need help setting up LAN network for bridge for xbox live

I use my laptop as a bridge to play xbox live. I use the ethernet cable and plug it straight into my laptop. It works fine on the laptop but on my desktop which i run linksys wireless on it shows that theres no local area connection so i cant bridge the connections. Does anyone know how to to setup the LAN network so i dont have to have my laptop hooked up?
 
i got the local area connection to install by inserting the driver disk and installing it. Now i make the bridge and it connects the local area connection but xbox live does not pick it up. When i go to test connection it says can't obtain an IP address from your router or modem. I really need help with this can anyone help?
 
now this happens:

The LAN and wireless connect from the bridge but my wireless network says it is connected but wont work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
