hey guys how is everyone, ive installed a new cpu im acer desktop and i have to update my bios, its a acer j88m mother board and ive upgraded the cpu from a cellaron 2.4ghz to a p4 3.0ghz.(socket 478) everything works apart from 2 things: haveing to clear the cmos on restart caus it will freez on the windows welcome screen if i dont... and when i try to load optimized defaults or save and exit setup at the start it will freez then also.. i have found an upgrade for it here

i have downloaded the softwear for the bios icludeing the chipset softwear wich came as an .exe file and was easy to install
the files i have from the the site to flash my bios are named:
J88mr1c1.bin
AWFL826B.exe
now i have tride running the AWFL826B.exe file from the app. and all that happens is a blank dos screen apears for a split second and then disapears
and the other file J88mr1c1.bin im not sure what to do with it comes up with a vlc media player icon,
i have tried reseching how to flash a new bios and cant find anything about how to flash an acer bios for my model board and i was hopeing some one here could help this is my first time ive had to this so im unsure about the process and whats involved . do i have to make a boot disk or somthing useing new bios update files if any one could help explain to me the process or what i need to do i would be verry greatfull and apreciative thankyou very verry much regards steptoe11111
