So i'd like to start off with me saying i am a beginner and i have never upgraded or built a PC before. The only thing i have done closest to it is install a hard drive. So i am not satisfied with my PC i bought it as a gaming PC not knowing much about PCs. My processor is 1.8ghz and BAD and i need a new motherboard to upgrade it. Look at the link below for the specs on this PC.

Uhm, hate to tell you this but you might as well build a new pc totally. When you buy a prebuilt pc, almost basically stuck with what you have. That cpu is supposedly soldered to the motherboard. What kind of budget do you have?

There has to be a way to upgrade the motherboard and processor. That is almost like saying you cannot upgrade a pc you built because it already has parts. My budget like i said is about a 100 dollars for the motherboard and the processor. But i can go higher if needed.

I'm not even sure that the case will work with a new motherboard. Finding a motherboard and gaming cpu for 100 bucks is gonna be tough. You will most likely have to get a new power supply as well. Does the dell come with a video card?

Amd radeon r9 360

So I looked at the design of the motherboard last night and noticed it has a funny motherboard in it.

So any retail motherboard won't work in that case. You'll need a different case as well. This is why when you buy a prebuilt, you always want to make sure it what you want and will work for what you want to use it for. It doesn't even use a standard psu, its like a laptop charger. So you'll have to get all new components anyway. So save up, would be better to have someone build you a pc other then buying another prebuilt.

Alright, thanks for the help i am just going to save up and build my own PC. Really appreciate you taking the time to help ke with this because it was getting me frusterated.

Yeah unfortunately as John was saying, there isn't much you can do with that. The vast majority of the time when you buy a small form factor or microtower prebuilt pc you're sacrificing a lot of upgradability.

If you had a certain budget in mind for new components we could make some suggestions for you.

Yeah i have been thinking and i think my budget is going to be 500 bucks. I will go a little over 500 if needed.

I was looking to see if you could upgrade that CPU, but it looks like the AMD A10-8700P is a laptop CPU.

I had a Dell Dimension 4600 and was able to upgrade its CPU long ago. I upgraded everything in it except the motherboard.
