Need Help! Using WiFi To Stream PC Media Player To Smart TV

I have a Vizio M501D-A2 TV. It has it built-in WiFi and my home has a WiFi network with everything on it. I can play movies from a usb flash drive via a usb port on my tv but it will not see or recognize srt subtitle files like my pc/laptop will. I know youtube will allow you to find a video on your phone and play it on your tv but I want to be able to play a video on my tv using my pc that will allow me to use srt subtitle files. Any ideas how I can stream this playback to my tv using zoom player or something that sees srt files on my laptop? Just FYI I have tried a few video convertors trying to just hardcode the srt files in the video but they rarely work. Thanks!

Does your TV have the ability to stream from the network? If not, you are out of luck without either buying another player like the Nexus Player or WD Live, or you can use the TV as a second monitor if they are near each other.

I think I found the answer HERE, going to use my ROKU and PLEX as a server to ROKU.
