Hello, I've recently been doing some research on upgrading my processor and came across your great forum here.
I have an HP a1630n and was wondering whether a 2.7 Ghz AMD Dual-Core CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210) would be compatible?
The motherboard specs can be found here (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3245027&lang=en) for reference.
I think it is compatible, as the motherboard supports both X2 and the AM2 socket. If I purchased this CPU, would it be as simple as taking the computer apart, swapping out the old chip and replacing it with the new one? Would there be any BIOS or driver updates necessary?
Thanks, I could really use your guys' help.
