Need Help w/ CPU Upgrade

Hello, I've recently been doing some research on upgrading my processor and came across your great forum here.

I have an HP a1630n and was wondering whether a 2.7 Ghz AMD Dual-Core CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210) would be compatible?

I think it is compatible, as the motherboard supports both X2 and the AM2 socket. If I purchased this CPU, would it be as simple as taking the computer apart, swapping out the old chip and replacing it with the new one? Would there be any BIOS or driver updates necessary?

you could possibly have to flash your BIOS to make it recognize the new CPU. there are applications available that allow you to do it in windows. read up about in online and know exactly what you're doing before you do it, and it won't be a big deal at all.
