Ok, I need help, I have never build a computer because Mine is a dell. But now its not doing so well with the newer games so Im thinking about getting a new Computer for Gaming. I found all this stuff on Newegg, I don't know much about power supply, but im guessing the one that comes with the case won't do the job, so I need some help finding one. I also need help with a Video card, I did not know what kind i might want, but I want it to run the newest games on the highest graphics and future games at highest graphics (maybe the future games within a year or two.) I want to stick around the price range of $1200, not too much higher but a 100 or two over the limit is not too bad. So can some one please help me with this? :)

1. If you want to run everything at high I would get a 8800GTS 640 MB
2. 4 Gb of Ram is unneccasary
3. I would go with the Corsair 520HX 520 Watt Power Supply.
4. This is your choice but I would go with a Core 2 Duo, such as an E6600
5. If you do get a C2D here are two possible choices within the same price range:
Asus P5N-E SLI 650i
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3(Good overclocker)

Just a quick look over it, here are a few pointers:

Anyone here will suggest that you go with an Intel Core 2 Duo instead of an AMD, just because they are leading in performance right now. for the same price, you can get an E6600 for the same price. It will outperform the 6000+ in nearly every instance, especially gaming, and it can be overclocked easier/further as well.

Benchmarks:

E6600:

For the videocard, I'd sat the ASUS is the better of the 8600s, but the 8800 definitely trumps them both, it just depends on if you want to spend the money or not. If you're a SERIOUS gamer, go for it, otherwise, the 8600s are good cards too.

And yes, you'll definitely need a different power supply, but I've never even ran a card with a PCI-E power connector, so I'm not sure how much power would be required...

I always like to recommend this one:

But I'm not sure if just two 12V (19A + 20A) rails would be enough.

Finally, it seems like you're trying to build a nice gaming PC, so I might recommend two 250GB HDDs in RAID 0, for about the same price, but with a performance boost.

OK I made the changes, but now I am having problems finding a motherboard . I also though 4 gigs might be nice? Would it not help with future games and run windows Vista, or will 2 gigs be more then enough to do everything without a whisper of lag.

EDIT: Is it possible to for someone to reccomend a power supply from Newegg, as I would get everything from them anyway.

I would save your money and get 2GB for now, you could always upgrade if you wanted, but there shouldn't be any lag.

What are you looking for in a motherboard? Onboard sound or video (not a horrible thing to have, in case something goes out)? 2 x PCI-E x16 slots so you could run dual video cards in SLI later if you choose? Overclocking features? Lots of SATA, USB, or PCI expansion slots? I assume you'll be going for full ATX as you'll have an ATX case...

Ok, im going to want onboard sound. I won't be overclocking and I don't need onboard video if im getting a video card, if it dosen't cost too much more It would be great if if could have 2 video cards later. And yes ATX.
