need help with a cheap vid card

I have right now a 256mb nvidia geforce 6100(integrated chipset-stock with my pc)
i downloaded a demo for fear and for GRAW and both lag. I also Have halo and i cant even play it lags so bad... ive also been told since its integrated its taking my memory. I have 1024 mb memory and it says i only have like 864mb. I want a new video card but i only have around a $50 dollar budget so i was wondering what would be a good card?

I'll sell you my GeForce 5500 for 60 bucks. I bought it for 90$. Shipping, free. I need to get rid of it for a new airsoft gun.

It only costs $30 new on newegg...

Anything for $50 or under would be more of a downgrade than an upgrade, if you really want to upgrade you would most likely need a budget of at least $80.

You should get at least a 6600/GT for the 6 series, or at least a 7600gs for the 7 series if you would like a noticable improvement.

Well the 6600 costs about $75, and the 7600GS costs about $110. I know there over your budget, but for the under $50 you really cant get anything that would be significantly better than your integrated card, unless you buy used.

Your card wouldnt be a good upgrade card from his anyways, since yours is a 5x series, which has older technologies than his onboard 6x series.

Not to mention you cant sell here yet :rolleyes:

There may also be a few ATI based cards that will suite your needs, i'll try to find some and post back.

The 9800 series is good for the price. I posted another one with a 20$ rebate in another thread a while ago.

Good rebate, and a bit better then the 6200s. But I would save until you can get a better card-it will be worth it. Anything in your price range won't last long and will only cost you more $ later on.

Well Halo is less demanding that CSS, and i was able to play Halo maxed out with that card.
