Need help with a Compaq Presario CQ-50

my girlfriend's compaq presario cq-50 laptop constantly overheats and shuts off unannounced due to what i would assume to be a clogged/excessively dirty fan, usually with an hour or so of turning it on. there appears to be no way to physically get to the fan itself since there isn't a screwed on plate covering it and the chassis doesn't pop off either, after having removed all the screws. the keyboard and plate surrounding it does pop off after jiggling it off the hinges, but still no clear way to get to the fan. just bought some compressed air to try and get as much of the dust and dirt out, but still i'm not sure if what was being sprayed held a majority or any significant amount of dust that could be causing the problem. does anyone know either an easy way to access/clean the fan or a way to pop the chassis off?

Take a shop vac to the fans while using something to keep the fans from spinning, while using canned air in the vents to push the dust to where the fans are, so the shopvac can suck it out.

Woot! 900th post.
