I just bought the laptop and the screen is having an issue. It dark, you can fantly see the screen. I was told that either it the back light in the screen it self, or it the LCD inverter. I just want to replace both of them. But. This is my first laptop and I don't know to much about them. I would love to make it a generic/home built laptop. Not a very big fan of Name brand systems. Can I change the screen over to any laptoop screen of the same size or do I have to keep it an HP pavillion DV1000 screen. And if I can or Can't change it does any one know where I can get one fairly cheep?

Thank you,

Yea, this to be honest, and don't get a HP, they have a 25% failure rate in the first 3 years.

If you're considering taking that back I would recommend getting one of these ultra mobile laptops from Toshiba, they are some of the most reliable laptops around at the moment according to this survey.
