im looking to buy a new com for my room found one but it has 1.8Ghz is this slow? is it too slow for constant gaming use? Thanks.:P

What Cpu is it? You can't expect us to know what you're talking about just by posting the speed. Certain processors are faster compared to others, even though they had a slower clock speed.

Don't want to intrude but Schoning is a Celeron 1.6GHz processor good? Will it run good compared to a 1.7GHz processor of another type?

a intel celeron is not really a great destop but one advice when choosing a processor get one with atleast a dual core processor inside

its a dell 2g ram 320g HD 22" screen so pretty high quality com just wonderin about the GHz
Umm, I'm guessing it'll be quite new, so more than likely it's a Core 2 Duo E4300. Yeah, it's a good processor, and can run pretty much all of the games that are out today.

A Celeron is Intel's budget processor. It was made for those who needed something to do work/surfing the internet. It's not for gaming. To be blunt, it's not a great processor, especially compared to the latest Core 2 Duos and the AMD X2's.

Celeron Processors are capable of handling nothing more than having one MSN convo window open and 1 web browser....maybe wiht 2 tabs opened...might be too much...

1GB of RAM...below average for todays computing.

LOL :D

That made me laugh, thanks.

The Celeron really is a terrible processor. I was unfortunate enough to get stuck running one years and years ago when I knew nothing about computers. I was so jealous of my friend with a P4 :(

To the OP:

I forget where I read this, but I really like it.

Going by only how fast a processor runs speed-wise is like saying a transfer truck with 800HP is faster than a Honda Civic with 150HP.

OP: what are the other specs of the computer, like the complete spec list. If you want to be gaming, I'd make sure it has a decent dedicated GPU.
