Need Help With HD Partition Resizing

Just finished putting together my first build your own computer...thanks for all the help here on this board!

I partitioned off a 10 gig volume on the hard drive (Western Digital 500 gig) to download the XP Pro operating system. The unallocated portion of the drive is still empty...only loaded the XP so far.

I'm concerned I didn't make the partition large enough and would like to expand it to 15 gig to accomodate updates, etc. I tried to expand that volume using the XP Disk Management utility, but it won't let me. A note tells me that I can expand any volume EXCEPT the one with the operating system (XP) in it.

Question: Is there any way to expand this volume or do I have to format the whole disk and reload XP all over again (which I don't want to do as I have every thing tweaked the way I want it) and partition a larger volume?? I've looked and it appears there are some disk utility programs that may be used to expand my existing partition...I have no idea which one is best and don't want to pay a lot for the program for a one time use.

Any suggestions??
Tricks or tips??
Best disk management program??

(BTW...Very pleased with my build. No problems doing it and surprised with how well it works so far!)

I've searched for partition programs and had found ****** Partition Manager Home Edition free download. This ****** looks like it's a little more user friendly than the GParted, but I'm hesitant to use it without any input from someone who knows about it.

I've downloaded both programs and will make a decision on which I use tomorrow, depending on any additional posting.
