I'm working on a new build and would appreciate any advice, especially on compatibility, or better (or less expensive) components for the job.

I'm mainly using this computer for work (number crunching with R and octave, coding), hd movies, and some gaming (not SLI or Crossfire). I'm wondering if it would be better to go with a lower graphics card (the 4870 and 4850 seem to be a better value)
Thanks!
Duane.
