Hello all,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with an issue that I'm having. I recently put together a new PC for mostly gaming. I've got 2 monitors hooked up to it that are different sizes. I'm not planning on using them in any eye-finity type set up or anything. I just wanted the extra screen real estate, so that my girlfriend can watch netflix on the bigger monitor, while I web browse on the smaller one. This works just as I had hoped with no problem.
I was hoping that I would be able to do a similar thing with games but haven't been able to make it work yet. I was hoping that I would be able to run netflix on one monitor, and then play starcraft on the other one. The problem with that is that as soon as the game pops up, the video freezes on net flix, but continues to play sound. If I minimize the game then netflix resumes video with audio but when I switch back to the game then the video stops again.
I'm assuming what I'm trying to accomplish is possible and there is just a setting that needs to be changed. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it, as I don't find any of her shows interesting. Please save me from boring TV, and let me game!
These are my specs. I realize that I don't have a top of the line graphics card but SC2 isn't that graphically intense and I assumed I would be able to run a video in the background while playing, without experiencing huge lag. I'm also only playing at 1600x900 resolution.
Windows 7, home premium 64bit
i5 2500k (still stock)
MSI P67-G43 mobo
Radeon 6870 - 1gb ddr5 (stock)
8gb ddr3
Cololer Master Hyper N 520 heatsink
Rosewill Challenger ATX mid tower case.
