Need help with network and wireless settings.

Hi---Win 7 SP1--Linksys WRT54GL router--PureVPN. I have mucked up and changed so many setting in router and VPN that I have lost 1/2 of my network speed. Web pages are still quick but download speed is greatly affected. Is there a tutorial out there that will guide me to the best settings when using a router and VPN? What is your opinion of TCP Optomizer and MZ7?

PureVPN is just a VPN client it looks like. All you need to do in the WRT54GL ( I own one) is set VPN pass through. I would go ahead and press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds, keep holding the reset button and unplug the router, while still holding the reset button wait 30 seconds without power, plug back in and wait an aditional 30 seconds. This is what is called the 30-30-30 rule. It insurers that the router is reset to default settings. Remember that The Default Linksys WRT54GL Router Username is: blank and the Default Linksys WRT54GL Router Password is: admin.

TCP Optimizer is pretty much snake oil. I never seen a speed increase using it. At one time it worked great with Dial-Up.
