Hi, the title says it all. I am building a new computer and i would like to put in a sata HD. My last build i put a IDE HD simply because i was unsure how to install and get the computer to see the sata drive. Am i right in thinking i would have to set the bios so the sata HD can be seen, but on the other hand is there much of a gain in speed if i use a sata over an ide HD. The MB is an ASUS M3N-HT Delux/HDMI. In the user guide it says that sata 1-4 connectors are set to IDE by default, does this mean that it will see any sata divice i put in these connectors without changing anything in the bios. I would be very greatful for any advice.
Thanks for looking
Oh, also does a RAID setup mean more than one HD.
Thanks again

Should not have a problem. By saying they/Sata were set to IDE by default, probably means the Sata ports are set to Native IDE mode. In Native IDE mode, you dont have to load Sata drivers if the OS your installing doesnt have the drivers.
