Need help with this

My home network is set up like this,

I have a cable modem, hooked up to a wireless Dlink DIR-868L router,

Connected to that router is the following,

Mom ipad
Lil bro ipad
Lil sis ipod
Lil bro laptop
Lil sis laptop
My laptop

The router keeps disconnecting us all from it, what is happening, why is it happening, and how can I fix it?

Is there a firmware update for the router? I would try one device at a time to narrow done the culprit. It could be the ipod.

Ok I have updated the firmware and it's working fine :) although I do think it might be the number of devices that are connected,

When I said "Connected to the router..." I meant at that time,

All of the devices are,

Mom ipad
Lil bro ipad
Lil sis ipod
Lil bro laptop
Lil sis laptop
My laptop
Dad Kindle fire
Dad iphone
dad laptop
mom windows phone
mom laptop

So everything is working fine now? Good to know! For WIFI you can have up to 255 devices, so that is fine and shouldn't be a problem unless you have a limit from the DHCP pool.

Sometimes one device can bring down the entire network. When you have issues like that try one device at a time until you ID it.

Amount of devices shouldn't be a big deal as a pure number of clients, but you'll see the performance diminish for each competing device you have on the same wireless channel.

A lot of lower end devices like the one you have ship with crappy firmware. At least the update seemed to resolve your outage behavior :)

Edit:
I guess that isn't really a lower end device, at least from a consumer perspective lol.
With newer technologies like 802.11ac you're bound to witness firmware issues as the technology hasn't matured to a reasonable degree at this point.
