Need help with TV shows space on Hard Drives

1/2 a gb with a good tuner. it is usally 1 gb per hr. some are 2gb per hr. just depends on the tuner

could always convert and compress the files after recording them.

then the size could have a wide range depending on the resolution and quality.

for avi files,
a low quality, low res file can easily less then 50mb.
a higher res dvd quality file is usually around 250 to 350 mb.
and halfway in between you have nice tv quality, 640x480 res and being around 160mb.

btw. i would not get that one. i would get a little more expensive and go with a wintv. i think the one you get will not encode. which leaves your prossesor busy. the wintv encodes it so your prossesor will stay low

And what I'm doing with these part is I'm going to turn my old desktop computer into a TV Record to record my TV shows on my HD. Here's more information about my Desktop Project.
