I have a AMD Athlon XP 3200+ and I was wondering if there were any processors out there that I could upgrade to using the same chipset.

I also want to know, Is AMD athlon XP 3200+ still any good for new generation DX9 gaming?

I also have a Ati x800xt (AGP) and I want to get a x1950 (AGP) and I was wondering if it is worth me spending $170 on.

ALSO, If i wanted to play a game such as Crysis, would it be more GPU limited or CPU limited?

Thanks for your help =]

We'll need your motherboard model to determine that :)

Well, for $170 I'd go for the HD3850... a few bucks more, but it's between the 8600GTS and the 8800's...

I'd say motherboard, CPU, RAM, and GFX upgrade...

Well a XP 3200 is a socket A. The truth is I would not spend 170 bucks on Socket A or a AGP card. I would just save my money up and upgrade M/B-CPU-ram and video card

i just decided to make my own damn system so I got these from comp usa. The rest of the stuff i'll get from new egg.

Corsair 2gb ram
nforce 650i
Intel q6600
western digital 320gb 7200rpm
BFG tech 800watt PSU

total
$950~

Power supply is overkill... RAM is kinda low for that $950... and 650i is unneeded. Go for a P31-DS3L or P35-DS3L

Go to Newegg.com and get a build there. Much better prices.

man i hate myself for being such an impulse buyer. Im gonna return and buy on newegg.com its 200$ cheaper overall =/ Just I was feeling pressured

What PSU would you recommend for a Q6600 and 8800GT and other common stuff? (futureproof 4years)
