Hey all,

I've an Acer T630 PC and would like to upgrade some gadgets so that I enjoy games more, and would like to play the newest games.

I'm am not conversed with computers as much as you guys, so I thought I would provide my computer specs then you can provide me with advice on upgrades. I've around $400.00 to spend so I'm kinda on a budget.

First of all I would recomend a new graphics card as that is the major thing that needs to be upgraded.

Thats is A Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT for US$143 which I would recommend. but it depends on your personal needs. That card would play most of the latest games very well.

Next I would suggest A new stick of ram. A 512mb stick would be sufficent. But it depends on what games you will be playing. Also, check how many free slots for ram you have. You dont want to buy ram if you have no-where to put it.

The only other thing I would suggest to upgrade to ensure good performance is your cpu. Your current one is ok but a new one would be a lot faster. Personally, My cpu (Pentium D945 3.4 Ghz Dual Core) is perfect for my needs. but If you are really into your gaming I would recommend A Core 2 Duo processor, As they are very fast and good for gaming.

Hope this helps,

If you have the cash I would opt for a 7900GT, or if you want to wait 6 months for a DX10 card to be more affordable. Nvidia is in the process of rolling out the mid range 8800s.

RAM and Video Card would help a whole lot. You can upgrade the CPU as others have said. But you might want to up your budget a bit, as you would probably have to get a new mobo also. RAM and Video Card should be enough of an upgrade for now :)

If you are going to upgrade the CPU, then you might as well get a new computer. Most of the time when you have to upgrade your CPU you would have to upgrade your motherboard as well, and from that screenshot you are running an Intel 5xx CPU which means its a Prescott. I doubt that your motherboard would support anything above Prescott, it will most definitely NOT support Dual core CPUs, so if you want to upgrade, I would definitely recommend that you upgrade your RAM and graphics card.
