i think my

Thermaltake W0014 Silent Purepower 480W with Black housing - Xaser Edition ATX 2-Fan Power Supply

is too much for my

SOLTEK SL-K8AN2E-GR mobo

it turns on for a split sec then turns off

am i right?
 
What are the rest of your system specs? And what do you intend to do with this PC? Complete system specs would be helpful. :)

Unless the PSU is broken its got enough power for what you have listed, are you sure everything is hooked up correctly?
 
Have you connected the Powersupply and the motherboard correclty using the 4 pin plug and/or the 12pin plug (depending on powersupply)?
