need help

I unable to turn on my main computer by a power switch, I dont know why? Is power supply just quit? thanks.

Did your PC turn off on it's own - or did you turn it off - and it wouldn't turn back on.

I know this is pretty silly question - but have you checked your power cord / outlet ( tried to plug it into a different outlet if the current one doesn't work ). If you turned your PC off normally - I would be surprised if it just died without warning next time you turned it on.

Last night, I turn off my computer by click shut down button in Window Vista.
Then in this afternoon, I press the power button in front of the case, it wont turn on.

I did try plug it on different outlet, and I did try put a jumper on power switch pins of motherboard, none of them works.

My power supply is Enermax 550W

My motherboard use ATX 24 Pins and ATX 12V 2X4 pins.
My CPU is E8600 overclocked to 4Ghz with a fan.
My Video Card is ATI Radeon HD 4870 2X6 pins with a fan.
My Video Card is overclocked too.
5 case fans. (two in front, one in rear, one on side, one huge in top.)
One DVD and one SATA hard drive.

I just don't know why it there is no power to computer.

I took my power supply out of my computer and bring it to my freind house to install it to his computer. Same problem, no power after turn on the switch. So I going have to buy new power supply, but there is so many of them in Newegg.com.

So, I pick this power supply, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341028. This should be great gaming power supply than mine. I will order this tomorrow, unless if someone who disagree about this.

Yes, 600w to 700w is plenty. i have an an 860w, its overkill for wattage but the amperages are not so good as a decent brand.

Why do you need a 1000w PSU? I would get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005. If you are planning on crosfire/sli in the future then get the Corsair 750w.

I just want to keep plenty power for both overclocking E8600 CPU and ATI Radeon HD 4870. I am not planing doing crossfire in future.

That is cheap Power Supply after mail in rebate. Thanks.

This seem little better, cause of more watts, 5 years Manufacturer Warranty, more amps on +12V.

but, like they said 600w to 700w for single videocard is plenty. thanks for help.

PC P&C would be a great choice, but your build looks to be more budget type. Maybe a Corsair or an OCZ would be better, I don't know what your budget is.
