I formatted and installed a new windows, now i'm trying to get the old windows back as i have a recovery partition, but i can't
i have tried the F8, but it doesnt show the system repair.

I have mounted the wim file on the recovery partition, but don't know what do next.

I have Dell inspiorn 1525

Used to have Windows Vista Basic
Now i have Windows XP modified version (SP2)

and i want the vista back

Please i need help, explain step by step ( i am not a computer genius)
and tell me where to get the programs, if you are gonna advice me to use
one

Never had an oem before except for laptop with recovery disc.

You could try 'F8' then exit to dos.
You should be able to change to the directory where the recovery is.
Can you type something like cd d: or cd e: to get to the partition.
If you can then type 'dir' and look at the files. your looking for something
like 'setup.exe' or 'recovery.exe'. for sure your looking for an exe file.
You might see some doc or txt files in there. you could double click it and read
and find out how to use it. Also check your documentation.
