OK, the new motherboard i am going to get has a SATA 1.5gb/s but no SATA 3.0GB/s and the new HD i want to get is 3.0Gb/s...Do i need to buy an adpater or do they use the same connection or what? Thanks
Don't weary, SATA II is usually both forward and backward compatible with SATA, allowing SATA hardware to interface with SATA II ports and vice versa.
Your HD will however slow down to the 1.5gb/s, but it will work.
yes, theyre compatible.. they use the same chord... basically one just bottlenecks the other, but its no biggy... theres not a huge diff. in performance.
