Alright, I am pretty new to building computers, (only 14 yrs old) and I am buildig my first computer right now cause Im tired of my dell and hp  . So anyways, last night I went to putting everything into my new case I bought, and the power supply says if for a p4 and I checked out on codegens website and it says it will work with amd motherboards, well, anwyays I hookupped everything, but there was a 12v adapter cord from the power supply that my motherboard does NOT have on it, does that make it so it will not power up? Because I tryed and it didnt react whatsoever, I need help on wether I didnt plug in everything correctly or need another power supply. I am using the k7 socket a motherboard and an amd duron 1600+.
Thank You
Mark

that extra 12v line is for the p4, amd doesn't need it. Check to see if the power supply is on, there should be a switch on the back of it.

You'll be fine, the ATX12V is for P4s and K8s

being on 115 wont fry anything, it won't even power on.
I think he meant "make sure its on 115 as opposed to 230" with the implicit and potentiallt incorrect assumption that stonedog24 is using N.A. power ;)

Alright, thanks guys, I got my computer up and running now, just these stupid pcchips motherboards suck,:D So Im buying another motherboard becasue I have no volume. Thanks for the help...all of yah's.
