I just got my friends x1900AIW. He always ran it at 100 % fan speed with no side panel, and the highest it got in games was 85...I just got it, and now Im worried because there is a sound card right under my video card, and I cant control fan speeds...I cant move my sound card because of limited pci slots...plz help

if you download ATI Tool you should be able to control the fan speed on the card, i know ATI Tool works for my X1600, just google it, shouldn't be hard to find, if you had another pci slot you could put one of those pci slot coolers in between them that might help.

google and download CPU-Z... run it and you can find all information about CPU, RAM, motherboard, etc...

then post it here...

Most are running some program that shows temps like SiSoftware Lite, Everest home edition, or some other utility that includes monitoring video card temps as well as cpu and board.

Ok...pceye, let me explain a little more broadly, I just got this server...I ran everest, and found that I could see none of my temps, I then got my new video card, and still couldnt see the temps in everest, or ati tray tools...Im guessing that my motherboard does not have a sensor or does not support something...

The option then would be to stuff a sensor right up alond side the GPU and hsf there if you can fit one in. That would be something you would have to monitor separately. Some of the newer model cards still lack their own sensors. Boards mainly have their own on top of the cpu socket and chipset as a rule. Those are there for the overheat protection circuits on most.
