Hi, I have a problem with my new computer. I bought all these parts (see below), put them together, and had no problems for about 2 weeks. I come home today, turn my computer on, and am greeted by a black screen and a solid whining beep, with a "C1" error on the LED POST code display. In the mobo manual, it says "Base Memory". I've tried a multitude of solutions (reconnecting all my parts, including the memory, and resetting the power), but nothing is working. Here is the list of things that randomly occur at startup now:

1. (With or without mouse+keyboard plugged in) Turn the computer on, black screen, constant error noise, "C1" (Base Memory) on POST.

2. (Without mouse+keyboard plugged in) I make it past the bios, but Windows freezes at the loading screen.

3. (Without mouse+keyboard plugged in) I make it past the bios and the loading screen, but computer freezes at user selection screen.

4. (Without mouse+keyboard plugged in at boot)I make it to the user selection screen, and then I plug in my mouse and keyboard. Computer does not recognize connection and does not power keyboard/mouse, or it freezes.

5. (Without mouse+keyboard plugged in) I make it to the user selection screen, and then I plug in my mouse and keyboard. Select my user, and everything works fine for a few minutes, and then my computer restarts with no warning.

My mouse and my keyboard were working perfectly fine and never caused problems in startup. I am at my wit's end as to what the problem is.

Try using only one stick of RAM, try one, and if that doesn't work, switch it out with another. If that still doesn't work, you may want to buy some cheap RAM and see if it'll work...after you're finished with the RAM you bought, you may be able to return it to the store...
