Need help

ok so here's the problem. i turned my laptop off and tried to turn it back on and it does nothing. i press the power button and no lights go on or anything like that. I have a Dell inspron 1000. If anyone can help me out that would be great.

First of all is the power connected? When you press the power button do you hear any fans or any other noises? You have to prepare for the possibility that your laptop might be dead.

yes the power is connected and when i press the power button their is no sound at all.

what could cause it to just die. its only a year old

Hello There,

This has happened with my Toshiba Satellite before. It's probably nothing wrong with the computer, but the battery.

Try this: (This is what I did)

Take your battery out from the laptop, keep it out for about a minute, make sure everything is clean. (I blew on the battery and on the part where the battery goes) put it back in after a minute. Then try it.

I do the same thing, And it's been good ever since.

Maybe you can tyr to listen to your harddisk when you on your laptop and try to listen to your harddisk is it running or not. it could be your harddisk is damage and cant boot up the system.

ok i found the problem. it was the cord. i got one from another laptop and the computer worked so thanks for the help guys.
