Hello,
I need a new motherboard but cannot afford a new processor, no chance on this. I would like to upgrade my vidcard & hdd but keep my processor and ram.
I'm currently using an iCore i7 LGA1366 processor.
Need new motherboard that supports PCIx3 & Sata-6gb

Reason for this is my family gave to me as a present a new shiny GTX660 video card... but my current MOBO only has PCIx2.0.
I'm also planning to purchase a new SSD HD but all the good ones support Sata6gb and my MOBO only does Sata3gb.

I did a little searching at newegg but havent had much luck.
Can anyone PLEASE help :)
I appreciate it much!

PCIe 3.0 cards will run just fine on a board with PCIe 2.0 slots. Hardly any performance difference at all. SATA 3 vs. 6, you would need to run a benchmark to tell the difference. Plus your board has 2 SATA 6 ports.

SATA6 is backwards compatible with SATA3. You have a great board, and you can use a newer SSD. The max transfer rates won't be as high, but what ultimately matters is the small random reads, which won't be affected by a SATA3 connection. Basically, it won't make any noticeable difference!

Hmmm... I went from having my SSD on 3GB/s to 6GB/s, and I noticed a difference, especially in boot times! Though the SSD is certainly fast on 3GB/s too.

There isn't much difference at all between PCI Express 2.0 and 3.0.

1366 is now considered a dead socket. And as said, you won't notice much difference between pci express 2.0 and pci express 3.0. You will either have to live with what you got or buy a totally different motherboard and processor.
