Need new PSU for Raidmax

I got a Raidmax Scorpio case with a 420 Watts PS2 size/ ATX12V P4 ready Power Supply

I'm told that this may be an insufficient power supply for my system and I have 2 questions:

1. Can you recommend specifically what PSU would give me enough power to run a high end gaming system.

2. Can I get any PSU or does it have to match my case? How do you tell if the PSU will fit your case or not?

That should be enough power. What are you planning on doing that will consume so much power? Just make sure that your power supply is ATX compatible if you have an ATX motherboard.

That has a lower wattage than the original PSU. It only has 400 Watts. I don't understand what you are trying to do. You should be fine with the current PSU.

People that I have talked to say that the Raidmax PSU sucks that it should be replaced.

I'm running a

A lower end 256 Geforce graphics card
Barton 2600+ AMD
1gb ram
80gh HD - I know
Thermaltake Volcano CPU cooler and 7 80mm fans - not too loud
Plus my tower has several lights on it and the fans do too

I play online games extensively.

Its not so much "insufficient" as it is "low quality"

1. Can you recommend specifically what PSU would give me enough power to run a high end gaming system.
You wont need an uber powerful fancy PSU unless you plan on OCIng or messign around and stressting your rails. If you do the Antec TruePower 480 and the OCZ PowerStream 520 come to mind real fast

2. Can I get any PSU or does it have to match my case? How do you tell if the PSU will fit your case or not?
You'll be fine unless you pick some ultra obscure power supply

That should be enough power. What are you planning on doing that will consume so much power
Again, its not so much the amount of power ... its the stability of the rails

That has a lower wattage than the original PSU
Again, nothing to do with the wattage.

Dunno about replaced (it depends on what you plan to do) ... just dont expect uber stable rails or nothin :)

Raidmax Scorpio cases are pretty good cases.
The cases are one thng. The power supplies are another
