Need new router

That or the asus?The asus sounds better, and I have had a problem with a cheap belkin not outputting good bandwith at all, like a nook wouldnt connect.
 
Confused why you don't want a good ol reliable linksys, the WRT series typically is rock solid, definitely after dropping DDWRT on it... and after dealing with a dlink router that died one year after purchase...id stay the hell away from that...

I'd save money, don't waste money on inferior products, and get this. Its the Taurus of routers, everyone owns one because...they just work.

As the description says, its compatible with ddwrt, and that alone...is the one reason id buy it, i have my WRT sitting in storage, only because centurylink gave us a router/wifi combo box, that doesnt require a router for. Oh...needs N...well then, not sure what to do there, I don't see much point in wifi, G works, and N is still iffy to me.

And a second thought, when your shopping for N, look for one that is capable of 5 ghz, cheap models only do 2.4 ghz, and if your really depending on wifi for data transfers, and i hope your not...because it sucks, you will want the 5ghz.

I have had 0 experience with Asus routers, and to be honest this is the first I've even heard of them actually producing routers, so I'm initially uneasy about them. I would recommend a US Robotics one, but it looks like they aren't really doing routers anymore, and have significantly reduced their product catalog...

The ones that seem to be the most reliable are going to be around $100 or more, so if you're expecting to get great quality for $30, give up and spend that money in a whole bunch of ethernet cables and get wiring...
 
The ASUS router I have works great, much better then the Linksys/Cisco routers that I have used.
 
I would recommend you that Linksys router because I have one but I already had one die on me but it was because my power outlet overloaded on me and the one I have now sometimes needs to be reset for some reason. Its probably a problem with my connection.

But overall its a great router. I'm guessing that second problem is my fault and it probably would work like a charm otherwise and it has great easy setup too.
 
The linksys wrt110 I have got, uhhh, well, you see, the house got struck by lightning, killed the printer desktop, and many things that were plugged in, like the router, so maybe thats why the router doesnt work properly.But, the linksys doesnt work with my wufu adpater, and I dont feel like buying a new one.I think I will go with the asus.The asus uses a chipset used in $150 routers, so thats a good sign, plus it can have ddwrt.
