I was just talking with someone who needs to upgrade the memory on his system. He currently only has 512 megabytes of memory. His computer uses 184-Pin DDR PC-2700 or PC-3200 memory.
His motherboard can accept a maximum of 4 gigabytes of Random Access Memory and it has four slots for memory. We were discussing the options of him upgrading his memory. He was wondering if he could get away with only buying 512 megabyte stick and then buying another gigabyte of memory in the future. This may be a bad idea as DDR memory may go up in price in the future. Will Double Data Rate RAM ever go down in price? What does everyone here think?
He uses the computer for browsing the internet and for spreadsheets.
