Hi, I have a Asus G1s Laptop that I am thinking about trading away for a desktop computer. I have an offer, but am trying to figure out if I would be lossing money by trading dor this desktop. Here are the specs the guy gave me:
amd 64x2 5200 cpu OC to 3.0ghz
6gb ram
150gb WD Raptor 10000 rpm Hard drive
DVD DL burner
EVGA 9800 GTX Video Card
650w Antec PSU
ThermalTake Soporano Rs 101 Case

Do you guys think it would be worth the trade?

thanx

Also I can't see what is the the mother is can you also include that as well. Well it's not bad if you laptop's set up is like this but how many years does he been using it?

ok specs of my laptop are:
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 / 2.2 GHz
Chipset Type Mobile Intel PM965 Express
Ram 4 GB
Technology DDR2 SDRAM - 667 MHz
Hard Drive 160 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
Display Type 15.4" TFT
Max Resolution 1680 x 1050 ( WSXGA+ )
Features Zero Bright Dot, ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence
GPU NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT TurboCache supporting 512MB
Video Memory GDDR3 SDRAM - 256 MB

He said the MOBO is a Msi K9n SLi
and will use OCZ Gold DDR2 800 ram

He said it is a new custom build so not used

Mike: this laptop is as updated as it can get, I think I could still slitly upgrade the CPU but the GPU is almost worthless now.

Well, I have a personal vendetta against laptops, so would do the trade. The only problem or weak spot I see in that desktop is the processor, which you could upgrade to a Phenom 2 with only a couple hundred. After that little upgrade, it would smoke your laptop. Can't be sure on the exact price to price difference, but unless you depend on your laptop's portability, I'd do it without a second though. One other thing to consider is that the desktop is significantly more upgradeable than your laptop (or any laptop for that matter) is.

Also, make sure it has a 64x operating system on it, so you can actually use all of your RAM.

Well that is not bad deal if he's giving you a good mother board then. But can you give me some links for the picture of each parts? I would like to make some more specific reviews about the part.
