If a laptop supports a 667mhz FSB,

which would run faster and why.

533mhz with cas latency of 4

or 667mhz with cas latency of 5.

I'm pretty sure the former would run faster.

Timings are measured in clock cycles. At 533MHz you are waiting 4 cycles, at 667 you are waiting 5. In terms of how long that actually takes:
533MHz is roughly 1.8ns per cycle
667MHz is roughly 1.5ns per cycle

4 cycles @ 533MHz = ~7.2ns
5 cycles @ 667MHz = ~7.5ns

So, the 533 will respond faster

Keep in mind, the Core 2 is good at hiding high latencies.
