I have a delema right now.
My local cpu shop is selling a GF6800 128mb 8xagp for $300 not including the $100 rebate.

Whats the difference from a 128 mb to a 256 mb. Im kinda young and I think I'm a hardcore gamer. So, I don't have a job, but I want an expensive graphics card.

So... I REALLY want to make a good choice seeing how I probably wont get another one for 3-4 years unless I get a job.

So, should I wait a month or 2 so they will have a 6800 256mb 8x and risk not having a $100 rebate?

Or should I just get the 6800 128mb 8x for only $200?

They also have a 256mb 9800 pro 8x for a little more if that makes any difference.

I would get it if I were you. I don't think you're really going to see that much difference without the extra 128MB. Do not get the 9800 rather than the 6800. It's a previous gen card, in a couple days it will be from 2 gens ago. Plus, it's worth not much more than 100.

The 256 will offer that much more memory (2x) and enable you to render better gfx. I don't think it will last you more than a year at running games in awsome quality, but who knows until it happens. If you want an expenive video card you'd get PCI express, but your computer's probably configured for AGP
