Need recommendations on a video card.

Hi. I am looking to upgrade my video card and need some advice. I want to get something that will be able to handle hd video and games such as call of duty modern warfare. Can anyone give me some recommendations?
Dell xps400
pentium d core 2 duo @ 2.8ghz per core
4gb ram
win xp
currently have an ati radeon 300 series card but its no good for gaming
375w power supply
3 PCI slots
1 PCIe x 1 slot
1 PCIe x 4 slot
1 PCIe x 16 (graphics) slot
 
what is your budget and where are you located? You will most likely need a new powersupply as well. Dell ones are known for being... unreliable and barely enough to power the system.
 
I would like to spend under 100 bucks... and I may check out some used cards on ebay. I am located in Pennsylvania. I'm thinking possibly an nvidia 8800... is there any advantage to using an nvidia card with an intel processor in my computer as opposed to getting an ati card?
 
none at all, but you may have problems with getting an 8800gt on your budget.

A decent PSU will set you back maybe $60 atleast, and then it most probably won't fit in a dell case, so you will need a new case aswell, a cheap one will be atleast $20-30, but ofcourse, with that, most dell motherboards aren't ATX, so you will need a new motherboard aswell :P

And if it is only for HD video and CoD4 similarly intensive games, an 8600GT plays CoD4 on medium settings at x4aa 1024x768 at constant 60fps+ and costs a hell of alot less than an 8800gt, largely beacuse it performs not nearly as well, but still perfectly fine for what you need it for
